Delhi schools, offices closed on September 11

Delhi schools and numerous government offices will remain closed on September 11 due to preparations for the forthcoming 18th BRICS Leaders’ Summit, according to the Directorate of Education (DoE). The holiday aims to reduce traffic and public inconvenience as the city gears up for heightened security and movement restrictions. The decision follows an announcement that Central Government and Delhi Government offices would also be on the day off.

Authorities are taking measures to manage security, logistics, and motorcade movements linked to the event. The Delhi Traffic Police has been conducting rehearsals to prepare for motorcade movements and other traffic requirements. Additional drone surveillance is being utilized to monitor traffic in real-time across key parts of the city.
