Catholic Knight who denounced Christianity over non-recognition of Ifeanyi Ubah arrested in Nnewi

Sir James Louis Okoye, formerly known as Ebube Anaedo and a Catholic Knight of St John International, has been arrested in Nnewi after allegedly denouncing Christianity during the opening of Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church over the non-recognition of late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah. Okoye, who gained notoriety in January for his protest at the consecration of the Nnewi Catholic Cathedral, was spotted performing a ritual cleansing of the land in the town on Saturday.

The vigilantes apprehended him while he wore a red dress, held a fresh palm frond, and carried a bell. Okoye claims he obtained permission from the traditional ruler of Nnewi town, Igwe Kenneth Orizu, before engaging in the cleansing exercise. Netizens have speculated that he has lost his sanity, while others maintain that he was merely practicing his religion.

As of the time of this report, Okoye's current health status and whether he has been released by the vigilantes remains unclear.
