Aussie Patterson claims Diamond League Final title with 'insane' win

Eleanor Patterson claimed victory in the women's high jump at the Diamond League Final in Brussels. Fellow Australian Nicola Olyslagers secured the third place position. Jessica Hull, another Australian, claimed the third spot in the women's 1,500m race. Patterson's triumph marked her second consecutive win at the Diamond League Final, following her success in Glasgow during the Commonwealth Games in July.

The Australian athlete cleared 2.01 meters with her final attempt, surpassing Ukrainian Olympic champion and world-record holder, Yaroslava Mahuchikh, who failed to clear the same height. Patterson's win adds to her impressive season, including her personal best of 2.02 meters in Germany. She attributed her success to her focused process, stating, "I stayed clinical and stuck to my own process, which really paid off."

Patterson's achievement further solidifies Australia's strong performance at the King Baudouin Stadium, where Cameron Myers also won the men's 1,500m race.
