Werro holds off Broeders-Bol, Bednarek shines at Diamond League Final

Audrey Werro of Switzerland secured victory in the women's 800 meters at the Diamond League Final on Saturday, outpacing Femke Broeders-Bol from the Netherlands. Werro recorded a time of 1:54.75, while Broeders-Bol finished with 1:54.81. This win highlights Werro's exceptional season, which has brought the women's world record, standing for 43 years, within reach. The 22-year-old enjoyed the race, finding motivation in Broeders-Bol's presence.

Kenny Bednarek of the U.S. set a world-leading time of 19.62 seconds in the men's 200m, despite challenging conditions. Bednarek, who was in full control throughout the race, expressed satisfaction with his performance and suggested his personal best might still be in reach for the upcoming Ultimate Championships.

Brazil's Alison dos Santos triumphed in the men's 400m hurdles, clocking a time of 12.20 seconds, just ahead of Devynne Charlton of the Bahamas. Italy's Klaudia Kazimierska won the women's 1,500, breaking her own world-leading time of 3:54.05 with a performance that surprised even herself and set the stage for a potential record-breaking season.
