Aranda hits 3-run homer in the 10th to give Rays a 6-3 win over the Rangers

In a thrilling matchup at Arlington, Texas on Saturday night, the Tampa Bay Rays secured a hard-fought 6-3 victory over the Texas Rangers. Jonathan Aranda was the Rays' hero, crushing a three-run homer in the bottom of the 10th inning to put his team ahead for good. The Rays find themselves atop the American League with an impressive 85-57 record, justifying their dominance in the league. The Rangers, on the other hand, entered the game trailing by three games in the American League West race, with a 70-73 record. With this win, the Rays solidified their position as the league's best team.

Taylor Walls came to the plate in the bottom of the 10th, executing a savvy sacrifice bunt that brought automatic runner Jorge Mateo to third base. Texas closer Jacon Latz (3-2) then intentionally walked Yandy Díaz, setting the stage for Aranda's monumental blast into the home bullpen beyond right field.

Prior to Aranda's heroics, Tampa Bay's Tyler Wells (4-2) delivered a stand-out performance, shutting down Texas for two scoreless innings. Junior Caminero ignited the rally with a solo homer in the first inning, setting the tone for the Rays' comeback. Richie Palacios extended the Rays' lead with a solo shot of his own in the fifth inning, bringing Tampa Bay's lead to 2-0.

Both Caminero's first-inning blast and Palacios' fifth-inning homer were both off Rangers starter Jacob deGrom, who struck out seven and walked just one over six innings. DeGrom, who has allowed 10 homers in the first inning this season, has a season-high 9.00 ERA in that crucial period.

Rays starter Drew Rasmussen kept the Rangers off the board with seven innings of one-run pitching, leaving a path clear for his eighth straight win. Joc Pederson of the Rangers answered with a team-high 25th homer of his own in the sixth inning, providing momentum for the Rangers' late rally.
