AS nafi dakwaan cuba tentukan kepimpinan politik Malaysia

The United States Embassy in Kuala Lumpur has denied allegations that it attempted to dictate Malaysia's political leadership. Speaking to Facebook, David H. Gamble Jr., the Acting Principal Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy, stated that the U.S. has never sought to determine who leads Malaysia's politics. He dismissed any claims to the contrary as false in a statement posted on Facebook today.

This denial comes in response to recent allegations that the United States offered to undermine Malaysia's government during former President Barack Obama's 2014 visit to Malaysia, when some PAS leaders were summoned for a meeting at the U.S. Embassy. PAS President Hadi Awang claimed this occurred during a visit by former U.S. President Obama in 2014, with some of PAS's key figures, Takiyuddin Hassan and Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar, visiting the embassy for discussions.

Following the meeting, Takiyuddin confirmed the incident to reporters but stated that the conversation was merely about whether PAS had plans to topple the ruling Barisan Nasional (BN) government, a matter not addressed by PAS. The U.S. Embassy previously also emphasized that its diplomatic relations with Malaysia remain focused on strengthening bilateral relations between the two nations.
