Agency won't be privatised or its role diminished: Isro

Alluding to concerns raised by some Isro employees, the space agency firmly denied rumors suggesting it would be privatized or its role significantly reduced. Isro emphasized it will maintain its central position, handling advanced space research, national missions, science, exploration, and critical capabilities. Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (INSPACe), which regulates private sector involvement, echoed this stance, stating Isro "will remain the bedrock of Indian space sector" and play a key role in future missions such as a space station and crewed lunar voyage.

The agency affirmed its commitment to frontier research, advanced technologies, human spaceflight, next-generation launch systems, and deep-space exploration. The regulator also highlighted India's goal of 50 rocket launches per year by 2030, requiring collaboration between the government and private industry to achieve.
