A Sunday night at Lambeau marks Dan Hicks’ 35th NBC Sports season milestone

Dan Hicks, a veteran announcer for NBC Sports, recently celebrated his 35th season with the network. The milestone came as he called the Notre Dame vs. Wisconsin game at Lambeau Field in Green Bay on Sunday night.

Hicks, who began his NBC tenure in 1992, expressed his gratitude for remaining at one place for such a long time. He emphasized the many variables and factors that can impact a career, but appreciated the stability NBC has provided over the years.

In addition to Notre Dame football, Hicks is known for his lead announcing duties in golf, swimming, and skiing at the Olympics. His partnership with Rowdy Gaines for swimming began in 2028, during which they covered Michael Phelps' eight gold medals at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and Katie Ledecky's 14 medals across four Olympics (2012-24). Hicks credits Phelps for elevating swimming's popularity in the United States.

Golf is Hicks's favorite sport, with 27 tournament victories, including three U.S. Open championships, to his credit. He also called the Ryder Cup, PGA Tour, and British Open.

This will be Hicks's seventh season calling Notre Dame games, with his next appearance set to take place at Lambeau Field. He expressed excitement about this particular game, describing it as a special moment in his NBC career.
