US ambassador to Israel says no plan to force Palestinians out of Gaza

US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee declared on Saturday that the Israeli government has no intention of forcibly removing Palestinians from Gaza. In an interview with reporters in Turmus Ayya, a Palestinian town in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, Huckabee firmly stated that there is "no plan" by the Israelis to displace Palestinians against their will.

Huckabee emphasized that there is an openness to allowing Palestinians to leave Gaza if they so choose. He firmly rejected the idea of incarcerating them in a place they don't want to be, calling it a "disgrace."

Both the Israeli and American governments, according to Huckabee, have rejected the notion of forced displacement. He added that no one supports such an action.

Defence Minister Israel Katz had suggested earlier in the week that there is "no real solution for Gaza" without the migration of Palestinians. Far-right security minister Itamar Ben-Gvir later outlined a seven-year plan for the voluntary emigration of Gaza's population. Israel is scheduled to hold a general election on October 27.
