UP Special TET 2026 Registration Begins Today At upessc.up.gov.in; Check Eligibility, Dates, Fee And Application Process

The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) initiated the registration process for the Special Teacher Eligibility Test (Special TET) 2026 on September 5. Teachers at the primary and upper primary levels, as well as special educators for Children With Special Needs (CWSN), are eligible to apply. To apply, candidates must first complete One-Time Registration (OTR) on the UPESSC website, upessc.up.gov.in.

The official bulletin outlines the key dates: advertisement publication on September 3, OTR/online application begins on September 5, application fee deadline on October 4, and application correction deadline on October 8. The Special TET 2026 exam is scheduled for November 3.

Eligibility for primary level special teachers requires a daily or contractual employment in elementary schools, graduation, and a D.Ed. in special education or an RCI-approved equivalent degree with a current CRR number. Upper primary level special teachers must work on a daily or contractual basis in upper primary schools, hold a graduate degree, and possess a B.Ed. in special education or a recognized equivalent degree with a current CRR number.

The age limit for special educators under contract or daily employment is sixty years. Payment for the examination fee is ₹1,000 for general, OBC, and EWS categories and ₹500 for SC/ST categories per level, while PwD candidates pay ₹300 per level. Payment can be made online via credit/debit card or net banking, and candidates must retain the receipt for future reference.

The application process includes completing OTR, logging into the UPESSC portal, filling out the application form with personal details, employment information, and supporting documents, and uploading the required photos and signatures. The fee must be paid at the time of application submission.
