Thai man kicks 70 year old Brit in face on Jomtien Beach

On September 3, a 70-year-old British tourist was assaulted on Jomtien Beach in Pattaya. The victim, Anton Gilmour Wild, was kicked in the face and punched by a Thai man, also believed to be around 35 years old. Police detained the alleged attacker after he attempted to flee the scene. Wild received medical attention for his facial injuries and swelling before being taken to the hospital for treatment.

The Thai man claimed that Wild had stolen his motorcycle, providing him with evidence to support his story. He stated that he followed Wild to the beach to confront him about the alleged theft. However, police officials did not accept his account, noting that the man provided inconsistent answers and appeared intoxicated. Police restrained and handcuffed the Thai man before taking him to Pattaya City Police Station for questioning.

Witnesses reported that the incident occurred as the Thai man crossed the road towards Wild, who was sitting with a group of foreign friends. The two argued briefly before the Thai man kicked Wild, causing him to fall to the ground. A second punch followed, prompting bystanders to intervene and alert the police. The Thai man was interviewed further at the police station, providing his motorcycle theft claim. Authorities are now investigating the incident before determining appropriate legal action.
