Tiann Castellino Dominates As Mumbai Suburban District Badminton Championship Reaches Semi-Finals

Mumbai: Tiann Castellino solidified her dominance as she clinched an impressive 15-7, 15-4 victory over Myra Goradia in a Girls U-17 quarter-final match of the Mumbai Suburban District Championship & Selection Tournament 2026. Organized by Goregaon Sports Club in collaboration with the Badminton Association for Mumbai Upnagar, the tournament took place at the Goregaon Sports Club on Thursday.

In another notable match, Spurha Joshi displayed remarkable determination, overcoming Anika Taneja 13-15, 15-7, 15-12 to secure her place in the semi-finals. Rishikesh Jayasimha also staged an inspiring comeback, defeating Kaavya Parmar 12-15, 15-10, 15-11 in the Boys U-15 quarter-final. The results from the quarter-finals were as follows: Girls U-17 (quarter-finals): Khushi Pahwa defeated Avni Shetty 15-13, 15-5; Gargi Dabholkar bested Nikita Gautam 15-9, 19-17; Spurha Joshi outplayed Anika Taneja 13-15, 15-7, 15-12; Tiann Castellino triumphed over Myra Goradia 15-7, 15-4.

Meanwhile, the Boys U-15 quarter-finals saw Rishikesh Jayasimha defeat Kaavya Parmar 12-15, 15-10, 15-11; Prabir Cheema triumphed over Samarth Jain 15-11, 15-12; Ajinkya Desai outperformed Nevan Denis 15-9, 15-10; and Krithik M. outshone Arjun Raut 15-12, 15-12.
