Thai DPM Sihasak to undertake two‑day working visit to Malaysia from Sept 6

KUALA LUMPUR, September 5 — Thailand's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sihasak Phuangketkeow, will embark on a two-day working visit to Malaysia from September 6 to 7, according to the Thai Government's PR. The visit aims to build upon discussions held by the leaders of both nations during the Thai Prime Minister's official trip to Malaysia from July 9 to 10.

Sihasak will be joined by Thanat Suwannanon, Director of the National Intelligence Agency and Chief of the Peace Dialogue Panel for the Southern Border Provinces.

During their stay, Sihasak and his team will meet with Malaysia's Foreign Minister, Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, to discuss matters pertaining to border security and the joint development of border regions. The primary focus of their talks will revolve around infrastructure development, including improved road and rail connectivity, as well as the construction of extra sections of the border fence.

The intention is to bolster security, enhance connectivity, and promote economic growth in border areas, ultimately benefiting the citizens of both countries.
