Sungai Besi Highway’s 400m lane‑widening project completed, opens to traffic Monday

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 5 — The 400-metre widening project on the Sungai Besi Highway near the Seri Kembangan Interchange (southbound) has been fully completed, with traffic set to resume from Monday. The enhanced roadway will benefit commuters traveling from Kuala Lumpur to Balakong and Putrajaya. Besraya (M) Sdn Bhd announced the RM5.22 million project, completed with assistance from the Malaysian Highway Authority.

The initiative improved lane capacity and should alleviate congestion along the route from KM4.2 to KM3.8, particularly during peak times. Additionally, the tidal lane between KM5.3 and KM3.8 will be eliminated, further enhancing traffic flow in both directions. Besraya affirmed its dedication to delivering a safer, more comfortable, and smoother highway network, particularly for those journeying to Balakong and Putrajaya, while contributing to the development of the nation's highway infrastructure.
