PM Modi recognised the power of sun, followed it & brought its benefits to the people : Union Edu mini Pralhad Joshi at SRCC

Union Education Minister Pralhad Joshi praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for harnessing the power of the sun and bringing its benefits to the people during his address at the centenary celebrations of Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC). Joshi highlighted that India's solar energy capacity has grown from 2.6 gigawatts to 165 gigawatts under Modi's leadership, a significant milestone in the country's renewable energy journey.

Joshi emphasized that the PM recognized the sun's potential "before 2014" and followed through on harnessing its power for the betterment of the country and its citizens. He also acknowledged SRCC's 100-year anniversary, noting the college's long-standing reputation and the dedication of its alumni and faculty.

The Minister expressed gratitude to SRCC for its role in implementing the National Education Policy and commended the institution for its contributions to the field of education. Joshi pointed out that the total number of students enrolled in higher education has reached 4.5 crore, a 10% increase from the previous decade, under the Modi government's guidance.

He also highlighted the growth of India's startup ecosystem, which has increased from fewer than 400 startups to over 2.3 lakh startups in the past five years. Joshi stressed the importance of India becoming a global manufacturing hub and a skill hub, driven by its young population and the need for skilled human resources.

Joshi concluded by emphasizing that India's energy sector has played a crucial role in the country's growth, with solar and wind energy contributing significantly to reducing electricity costs and protecting the environment.
