Those who put India in Fragile 5 doubting GDP: PM Modi

Prime Minister Modi addressed the centenary celebrations of Shri Ram College of Commerce on Saturday, defending his government against critics who question India's positive economic developments. Modi dismissed the "fragile five" label, asserting that the "power of truth" would eventually outweigh "lies." He highlighted the country's robust GDP growth of 7.8% and the recent upgrade of India's credit rating by Japan Credit Rating Agency.

Modi questioned the motives of those who doubted India's growth, comparing them to a "perennially disgruntled uncle" who finds fault in everything positive. He criticized his political opponents for opposing each of his policy initiatives, such as Jan Dhan Yojana and Make-in-India, and pointed out that India's growth continued despite global challenges like conflicts in the Middle East and Europe.

Modi emphasized that his opponents failed to consider the support of the Indian people during crises. He dismissed Congress and other critics, using the colloquial "naraaz fufa" to refer to them. Modi's speech, delivered at SRCC in 2013, marked the beginning of his prime ministerial campaign and emphasized the country's improved social and economic security.
