Penyatuan ummah, RCI dakwaan ‘mafia korporat’ antara usul lulus muktamar PAS

The recent PAS Muktamar has passed resolutions aimed at strengthening ummah unity and urging the establishment of a Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) to investigate allegations of corporate mafia activities. PAS Deputy Chairman Zulqarnain Hassan emphasized that Islamic unity is a crucial foundation for political strength, stability, societal harmony, and national prosperity.

He stressed that ummah unity should be a strategic agenda transcending party interests and elections, based on Islamic principles, mutual understanding, and the interests of the people and the nation. Speaking on behalf of PAS Deputy Chief Minister Nasruddin Hassan, he reminded delegates that past attempts at unity have often failed, urging them to succeed this time without any misunderstandings or hidden hands sabotaging the agenda.

He also called for social media to be used as a platform for unity, not discord or weapons to extinguish unity aspirations. Nazrul Nazir, a PAS Youth Council deputy, urged for a thorough and unbiased investigation by the RCI, based solely on facts and evidence without prematurely judging anyone. Meanwhile, Bloomberg reported earlier this year that some Malaysian Anti-Corruption Agency officials were allegedly involved in a corporate mafia providing intimidation services, including bribery, to pressure businessmen into selling their stock holdings.

However, SPRM Commissioner Azam Baki dismissed those allegations as baseless. Of the seven resolutions proposed at this 72nd PAS Muktamar, 33 were accepted, three were accepted without discussion, four were debated, and 26 were rejected or referred for further action.
