Penyatuan ummah, RCI dakwaan ‘mafia korporat’ antara usul lulus muktamar PAS

Muktamar PAS recently approved a motion to strengthen the agenda of uniting the Muslim ummah and urged the establishment of a royal investigation body (RCI) to investigate allegations of corporate mafia activities. Addressing the issue at a press conference, Zulqarnain Hassan, a representative of PAS's Council of Ulama, emphasized that uniting the Muslim ummah is essential for the strength of the community, political stability, social harmony, and national prosperity.

The unity of the ummah should be a strategic agenda transcending party interests and elections, based on Islamic principles, mutual understanding, and the interests of the people and the nation, he added. Nasruddin Hassan, another PAS representative, reminded delegates that such efforts have failed in the past and urged them to succeed this time without any misunderstandings or hidden hands.

He also called for social media to serve as a platform for unity, not division and weapons to extinguish the desire for unity. Nazrul Nazir, a representative of PAS's Council of Youth, called for an independent and thorough investigation by the RCI, based on facts and evidence without prejudging any party. A Bloomberg report from early this year alleged that several Malaysian Anti-Corruption Agency officials were involved in a corporate mafia, providing intimidation services, including bribes, to pressure business executives into selling their stock shares.

However, the then SPRM chairman, Azam Baki, dismissed the allegations as unsubstantiated. Of the seven motions presented at the 72nd PAS Muktamar in Kelantan, 33 were accepted, three were accepted without debate, four were debated and rejected, and 26 were rejected or referred to relevant parties.
