Oasis reunion tour documentary rocks Venice Film Festival

On September 5, 2026, at the 83rd edition of the Venice Film Festival, the Gallagher brothers Noel and Liam made an unexpected appearance at the festival. Rather than participating in a traditional news conference, the brothers simply waved to photographers before leaving the Lido docks. Their world premiere was none other than the documentary "Oasis: Don’t Look Back in Anger," a film that delves into both the concert tour and the tumultuous relationship between the two Gallagher brothers.

This reunion tour documentary explores the contentious dynamics that led to Oasis's disbandment in 2009 following a backstage altercation in Paris. Former Oasis frontman Noel Gallagher famously referred to Liam as "the angriest man you'll ever meet," while Liam had accused his brother of deliberately sidelining him in the band to further his own career.

Oasis, formed in Manchester, England in 1991, achieved tremendous success in the 1990s. Their debut album "Definitely Maybe" reached No. 1 in 1994, and their 1995 follow-up, "(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?" became one of the best-selling albums in UK history. "Oasis: Don’t Look Back in Anger" includes previously unseen rehearsals, highlighting tensions as Liam joined the band, and features what was, at the time, their first interview in 25 years with both brothers.

In 2025, Oasis ended a 16-year hiatus with a reunion tour that commenced in Cardiff, Wales. The sold-out show attracted an enthusiastic crowd of over 60,000 fans, many of whom feared the 2009 Paris incident might repeat itself. However, the tour proceeded without a hitch, featuring the original members Noel Gallagher, Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs, Gem Archer, Andy Bell, and Joey Waronker on drums.
