Oasis fans gather in Venice for band reunion film

Venice welcomed Oasis fans on September 5th, eager to catch a glimpse of the behind-the-scenes film documenting the band's reunion tour. The Gallagher brothers, Noel and Liam, were set to attend the premiere of "Don’t Look Back in Anger," marking a significant moment in the band's history. After a 15-year hiatus, the pair reunited, creating an outpouring of nostalgia and support from fans worldwide.

The Disney film, which captures the reconciliation of the Manchester duo, premiered at 9 pm (3 am Malaysian time), attracting a crowd of devoted followers who had reserved places in front of the main Venice Film Festival hall. The reunion, which led to a world tour in 2025, reignited fans' love for Oasis, a pioneer of the "Britpop" movement in the 1990s and one of the biggest rock bands of the past three decades.

The film was produced by British music documentary makers Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace, alongside Steven Knight, known for his work on the Peaky Blinders TV show and scripting the upcoming James Bond movie. The trend of major artists releasing behind-the-scenes films about their tours continues to grow, with previous examples including Taylor Swift's Eras Tour film in 2023, which grossed an estimated US$260 million (RM1.05 billion) worldwide, and Beyonce's 2023 tour film, which earned US$44 million.
