Greenwood, Guendouzi handed bans after Fenerbahce-Lyon brawl

In a chaotic brawl following Fenerbahce's 2-1 victory over Lyon in the Champions League play-off second leg, French midfielder Matteo Guendouzi and English player Mason Greenwood have been banned from UEFA club competitions. Guendouzi received a four-match ban, which includes a one-year probationary period, for insulting others, provoking spectators, and violating basic conduct rules. This ban applies to matches he would otherwise be eligible for. Guendouzi was also fined €50,000.

Greenwood, who had previously played for Lyon's rivals Marseille, received a one-match suspended ban and a €30,000 fine for violating basic conduct rules. The brawl occurred after Fenerbahce's 2-1 win over Lyon in France, securing a 3-2 aggregate victory. Both players previously played for Lyon's bitter rivals Marseille.
