Democracy and stability more important than new provinces, National Party leader says

National Party leader Jan Muhammad Buledi warns that Pakistan's core issue is not the creation of new provinces, but the preservation of democratic and political processes. He argues that the failure to uphold constitutional principles and democratic values is causing unrest across the country, particularly in Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

Despite maintaining strong relations with major international powers, Senator Buledi stresses that resolving internal challenges demands addressing the root causes of issues and rebuilding public trust. He clarifies that the demand for new provinces is not a priority for any major political party in Pakistan, and that, except for Balochistan, the country's provincial boundaries largely reflect those set before independence in 1901.

Buledi insists that the National Party aims to convey Balochistan's grievances to Islamabad, warning that force cannot resolve these problems. He presents a comprehensive view of Balochistan's troubles, encompassing education, unemployment, border trade, agriculture, groundwater depletion, public safety, and the critical issue of enforced disappearances, which he deems a constitutional violation.
