Box office magnet Robert Pattinson appears in paedophile thriller

Robert Pattinson, one of Hollywood's most lucrative stars, is set to star in the upcoming film Primetime, which will premiere at the Venice Film Festival. The thriller, directed by Lance Oppenheim, sees Pattinson playing a TV presenter who hunts pedophiles. This is Pattinson's first feature film with Oppenheim, for which he has also taken on the role of co-producer.

The film is based on the scandal-plagued NBC reality TV show To Catch a Predator, which featured host Chris Hansen luring pedophiles to fake meetings with children and exposing them on camera.

Following a trailer screening, Chris Hansen, the former host of To Catch a Predator, praised Pattinson's eerie imitation of him in the film. However, Hansen also hinted at the possibility of legal action due to what appears to be a largely unflattering portrayal. Pattinson found the accent challenging for the role, and he will also appear in the third part of Dune in December.
