1,511 candidates selected at job mela in Mysuru

A job mela held in Mysuru on Saturday selected 1,511 candidates for various positions, offering employment opportunities to job-seekers. Organised by the Janaspandana Trust, run by former MLA M.K. Somashekar, the event was inaugurated by Minister of Mysuru district Yathindra Siddaramaiah. Dr. Yathindra praised Somashekar for his efforts to help job-seekers find employment, urging students and youth to acquire relevant skills to enhance their employability prospects.

Over 60 companies participated, providing a platform for candidates to discover job openings. Somashekar reported nearly 8,000 job vacancies, but companies faced challenges in recruiting candidates with the necessary skills. Out of 4,537 registered candidates, 1,511 were selected for various roles, while 1,309 were shortlisted for subsequent recruitment phases.
