Xiaomi 18-Fold Shown at IFA Before Official Unveiling

Xiaomi displayed its upcoming 18 Fold at the IFA 2026 exhibition, a week before its official launch. The foldable device was showcased behind glass, preventing direct interaction, but its appearance and several key features were visible to attendees. The 18 Fold showcased a striking red hue, which seemed more vivid in person compared to earlier images.

Its foldable design followed a short and wide "passport" style, similar to that of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8, but Xiaomi incorporated rounded corners, potentially improving comfort during extended usage. The device featured a 5.38-inch cover display, with the left side of the screen appearing more squared due to the rounded design, while the right side retained more rounded corners.

The bezels around the display were relatively thin. Under the hood, the phone boasted a 7.58-inch main display, with a nearly seamless crease, making it difficult to detect from most viewing angles. The main screen incorporated a punch-hole cutout on the top-right corner to accommodate a selfie camera. On the back, the Xiaomi 18 Fold housed three cameras organized within a visor-style camera module, expected to consist of a primary, telephoto, and ultrawide lens.

Xiaomi has confirmed that the 18 Fold would be powered by its in-house XRING O3 chipset, with early benchmark results suggesting strong performance from the new processor. However, Xiaomi has not disclosed additional specifications at this time, with further details anticipated upon the official unveiling of the device next week.
