TCL Launches New NxtPaper Tablets and Kids Watch K5

TCL recently launched two NxtPaper tablets and the Kids Watch K5 at the IFA trade show. The TCL Tab A1 NxtPaper features an 11-inch LCD panel with 2.1K resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The tablet comes in two versions, one with a bundled Kids Proof case and one without, priced around $313. The more premium TCL Tab A1 Plus NxtPaper, originally announced in March, is already available in Europe and the US. It boasts a 12.2-inch LCD with a 120Hz refresh rate and is priced at approximately $348 for the 256GB model.

TCL's NxtPaper technology reduces blue light and glare from the display, providing an eye-friendly viewing experience. The tablets are powered by either MediaTek's Helio G100 chipset or Qualcomm's Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, with 6GB of RAM and storage options ranging from 128GB to 256GB and 512GB. Both tablets feature an 8,000mAh or 10,000mAh battery respectively, with fast 33W charging support.

In addition to the tablets, TCL unveiled the Kids Watch K5, a smartwatch designed to keep children connected. The watch uses 4G connectivity and includes a School Mode to minimize distractions. It has a battery life of up to 2.2 days and supports replaceable straps for customization. TCL also introduced a motorized cradle that transforms the watch into a tiny robot-style desk accessory. The Kids Watch K5 will retail for around $116 when purchased individually.
