Ramanan: PM discussed Budget 2027 with Indian community leaders and NGOs

Education, economic opportunities, welfare and socioeconomic development were among the key topics discussed during a meeting between Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and Indian community leaders in Kuala Lumpur on September 4. Human Resources Minister R. Ramanan revealed that the second session of the meeting comprised leaders from nine chambers of commerce and 14 non-governmental organisations (NGOs).

These representatives were there to share community perspectives, insights that will inform Budget 2027. Ramanan emphasized that the government's initiative to listen to and understand the Indian community's views, concerns, and aspirations was paramount to ensuring policies and initiatives align with ground realities and community needs.

He stressed that every viewpoint, concern, and suggestion was heard directly by the Prime Minister and would receive appropriate attention and follow-up to yield tangible benefits for the community. Ramanan also expressed gratitude to the community leaders for representing their respective organisations and reflecting the broader aspirations, needs, and hopes of the Indian community.

The meeting took place alongside Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil and MITRA director-general N. Raveendran Nair.
