Police hunt two suspects after Machang Bubok shooting

In a suspected shooting incident, a 43-year-old man was wounded near a used-car workshop close to a Chinese cemetery on Jalan Sungai Lembu in Machang Bubok. Seberang Perai Tengah district police chief ACP Nik Aminuddin Raja Abdullah informed that the police were alerted about the incident at around 2:05 pm. The police report mentioned that at approximately 1:05 pm, the victim was confronted by two men of unidentified ethnicity on a motorcycle.

One of the suspects allegedly discharged a shot at the victim. After the incident, the victim fled to the Chinese cemetery to seek refuge, while both suspects escaped the scene. The victim sustained a right palm fracture, and he is currently receiving hospital treatment and is in a stable condition. Police recovered several items linked to the incident at the scene.

The police are actively investigating to identify the suspects and understand the motive behind the shooting, which falls under Section 307 of the Penal Code. Nik Aminuddin urged anyone with relevant information to contact their nearest police station or the investigating officer ASP Muazzam Shaaban at 017-4825017. He also urged the public not to speculate or disseminate unverified information about the incident.
