Perwakilan PAS Kedah gelar DAP ‘hipokrit’ gesa tuduhan Zahid diteliti semula

PAS representative Mardhiyyah Johari criticized the Democratic Action Party (DAP) for labeling the actions of the People's Justice Party (PKR) President Zahid Hamidi's prosecution as a "hypocritical" revision of 47 charges. Johari argued that the issue was not raised when DAP and Pakatan Harapan (PH) needed Umno's support to form the government in Putrajaya.

She stated, "Now that they want to form a government with Umno's support, this issue did not arise, but now they are fussing over it." Johari, who represents Pengkalan Kundor, denounced this as hypocrisy during the annual PAS Conference in Kelantan. Meanwhile, Jelutong RSN MP Rayer urged the AG to revisit Zahid's 47 charges related to corruption involving the Akalbudi Foundation's funds, supported by DAP youth.

DAP argued that the anti-corruption agenda shouldn't exempt politicians from the same standards, and uniform principles should be applied comprehensively. In 2023, the court dismissed and acquitted Zahid from the 47 charges, including fraud, embezzlement, and mismanagement of Akalbudi Foundation's funds. However, in January of this year, the case was classified as Not for Action (NFA).
