PAS-Umno perlu perkukuh kerjasama tawan lebih banyak negeri, kata Hadi

Presiden PAS, Hadi Awang, emphasized the necessity of strengthening cooperation with Umno to capture more states in the upcoming elections, stating that a government without strong support risks falling. In an address at the PAS 75th Jubilee Intan Silver Jubilee Ceramah, he highlighted the importance of a strong government, which cannot exist without robust support.

Such a government risks being toppled. He pointed to Kelantan as an example, where the people's support was crucial to keep the state under PAS rule despite various political challenges and pressures. Kelantan remained in PAS control despite being surrounded and facing numerous obstacles, thanks to the support of voters from other states, such as Sabah, who returned to vote.

PAS must remain patient after its success in PRN Negeri Sembilan, where it secured a large number of seats in the Dewan Negara alongside Umno. He noted that the situation became more stable after successful cooperation between PAS and Umno in capturing Negeri Sembilan. The more successful they are in winning states, the cooler they become, and the less heated the situation.

They should not be overly enthusiastic. The last PRN victory resulted in the party securing the largest number of seats in the Dewan Negara. The goal is to achieve more. The Barisan Nasional (BN) and Perikatan Nasional (PN) successfully formed a government in Negeri Sembilan after securing a two-thirds majority by winning 25 out of 36 Dewan Negara seats in PRN 16 on August 1. The new partnership between political factions saw BN win 18 seats, while PN captured seven.
