In a recent development, Perdana Menteri Anwar Ibrahim has stated that individuals assisting in investigations do not necessarily need to wear SPRM-colored uniforms. This issue has been a point of concern after certain individuals, who aided in investigations, were brought to court wearing the agency's attire. Prime Minister Anwar emphasized that those who assist authorities should be interviewed first before any further actions are taken.

He added that if an individual willingly cooperates in an investigation, they should not be required to wear the agency's specific uniform as it could create a different perception. The Ministry of Finance, the Anti-Corruption Agency SPRM, the Police, and the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDN) need to conduct their duties fairly and impartially.

If there is evidence, they should continue investigating; if not, they should release the individual. The issue of SPRM uniform usage was also raised in the Dewan Negara in February, particularly regarding whether individuals under investigation should wear the agency's uniform during remand hearings. Wearing the uniform, it is argued, could create a perception of guilt, even if the individual has not been accused of any wrongdoing.
