The previous administration had neglected the project, failing to initiate the tendering process or commence any work, causing the deadline to mobilize funds under the JJM to expire by March 2024. Consequently, the state government released its matching contribution once the Central government extended the JJM for an additional four years, facilitating the rapid execution of the project.
Krishna River water is now sourced from the Ibrahimpatnam NTPC canal, purified on-site, and supplied through the newly constructed pipeline and 12 overhead tanks.
