Impi Adun ‘sulung’, PAS Sarawak sasar tanding 4 kerusi di PRN

PAS Sarawak aims to secure at least four parliamentary seats in the upcoming state election, marking their first victory since being active in Sarawak for three decades. Rashidi Halun, a PAS Sarawak representative, emphasized that the goal is not merely a number but each targeted constituency needs a clear objective, strength, and work plan.

He stressed the importance of understanding why they are contesting, what their strengths and weaknesses are, and what they aspire to build for Sarawak. Sarawak has the highest number of seats in the Dewan Undangan Negeri (DUN) with 82 seats, plus an additional 17, making it the state with the most representatives. Rashidi expressed that PAS Sarawak does not aim for participation solely for the sake of contesting, but to contribute towards strengthening the party's strength for the long term.

The party hopes that 30 years of planting, working, and building will culminate in their first victory in Sarawak. He stressed that victory will come through careful planning, effort, sacrifice, and continuous work after the DUN polls conclude. The Sarawak DUN constituency cycle ends in February 2027, and the election must be held within 60 days after the dissolution of the DUN.

During the 2021 Sarawak PRN, PAS fielded only one candidate, PAS Sarawak Deputy President Arifiriazul Paijo, who contested the Beting Maro seat against five other candidates. However, Arifiriazul finished second with 2,058 votes, trailing behind Razaili Gapor of GPS with 3,769 votes.
