‘I have gone through a lot these past 2 days’ – A-Plus reveals after New Winneba violence

Gomoa Central MP Kwame Asare Obeng, widely known as A-Plus, has endured considerable pressure over the last two days following violent clashes in New Winneba that resulted in numerous deaths and injuries. During a joint Facebook address with Effutu MP Alexander Afenyo-Markin, A-Plus explained that the intense pressure stemmed from the growing expectations for leaders to intervene and address concerns over justice and longstanding tensions in the area.

He revealed that there came a point when the pressure became intense because people were expecting them to take action.

A-Plus emphasized that leaders must sometimes take the initiative to resolve problems, especially when residents believe justice is not being served. As a leader, he acknowledged his responsibility to be available to people seeking his support, stating that he has become a person who must be there for a lot of people, which has added to the pressure. He stressed that A-Plus and Afenyo-Markin, as leaders in the area, must work together to address the longstanding tensions between the communities and find a lasting solution.
