FIA appeal court strips Gasly of Monaco podium and reinstates Hadjar

The Formula One governing body reinstated Red Bull's Isaac Hadjar to third place and demoted Alpine's Pierre Gasly at Friday's appeal court hearing. Gasly finished third in the Monaco Grand Prix on June 7 but was demoted to seventh after two five-second penalties were applied post-race for pit-lane speeding. Fellow French driver Hadjar was promoted to third.

The decision was overturned after a right to review on June 12, with stewards accepting Renault-owned Alpine's evidence of a timekeeping error. The International Court of Appeal then heard a challenge from McLaren and Red Bull. Renault-owned Alpine expressed disappointment and frustration with the outcome, stating they maintain Gasly did not exceed the pit lane speed limit.

The decision affects other teams, including McLaren's Oscar Piastri moving up to fourth, New Zealand's Liam Lawson returning to fifth, and Arvid Lindblad moving to sixth. The court upheld the two five-second time penalties for Gasly, which will be reimposed and the championship standings amended accordingly.
