Ex-Liverpool player Ibe sentenced for assault on ex-girlfriend

Former Liverpool and Bournemouth footballer Jordon Ibe has been given a 12-month community order after admitting to assaulting his former partner in Lambeth, south London. According to BBC News on Friday, the 30-year-old, who previously played for England's Under-21 team, attacked Amie Mayson outside her residence in December. Croydon Magistrates' Court heard that Ibe had pulled a braid from Mayson's head during a dispute, causing her to lose hair from that area.

Initially denying the charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm in March, Ibe later changed his plea to guilty. Representing himself at the hearing on Friday, Ibe admitted he had committed a "serious mistake" and expressed remorse. Magistrate Brij Kalia sentenced Ibe to the community order, which includes 80 hours of unpaid work, 27 days of rehabilitation activities, and a fine of £764, including a £114 surcharge and £650 in court fees.
