Dhule: 100-Day ‘Zero Tolerance’ Campaign Launched Against Drugs, Says Jaykumar Rawal

Dhule district will embark on a 100-day zero-tolerance campaign against drugs, as announced by Jaykumar Rawal, the state's Minister for Marketing and Protocol and Guardian Minister of Dhule district. The initiative, spearheaded by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, aims to create a drug-free environment in the district. Rawal emphasized that the success of this campaign relies on a whole-of-government approach, with various departments collaborating to ensure timely action.

Responsibilities have been clearly assigned to the Revenue, Police, Agriculture, Forest, Education, Health, Urban Development, and Transport departments, among others. Rawal stressed the importance of inter-state coordination, particularly given Dhule's border with Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh, to prevent narcotics trafficking. He instructed officials to intensify information-sharing, expedite joint inspections, and enforce actions against drug-related activities.

Furthermore, Rawal stressed that drug-related investigations should not only focus on seizing contraband but also delve into the root causes of each case. Any officer or employee found aiding, abetting, protecting, or deliberately ignoring the illegal narcotics trade will face strict departmental action, including suspension.
