St. Louis CITY acquire Rafael Navarro from Colorado Rapids

St. Louis City has acquired Brazilian striker Rafael Navarro from the Colorado Rapids. The 26-year-old Brazilian joins the club in a club-record $12 million deal, with an additional $250,000 in conditional compensation also included. Navarro, who was a Designated Player in Colorado, will remain one for St. Louis. He is under contract with the team through the 2029-30 season and has an option for the 2030-31 season as well.

According to St. Louis City's sporting director Corey Wray, Navarro's profile stood out when they were searching for a striker who could fit their system, and he quickly became one of their main targets. The club believes Navarro is entering the prime years of his career, and they are excited to bring him to St. Louis to integrate him into the group as soon as possible.

Navarro has made 44 goals and 16 assists in 114 games across all competitions while with Colorado, scoring double-digit goals in three straight campaigns, including 10 goals in 2026. He has been a valuable contributor to the Rapids both on and off the field. St. Louis City's outgoing players include midfielder Carlo Holse and forward Damion Downs, while midfielders Marcel Hartel and Eduard Löwen were transferred out.
