Loyal/Greenwood football forfeits win due to ineligible player

The Loyal/Greenwood football team announced on September 2 that they will forfeit their 41-7 win over Neillsville/Granton due to an ineligible player. The school districts became aware of the issue after the game and reported it to the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association. They described the mistake as an "honest mistake" and have been given a one-year probation.

Assistant coach Aaron Greisen stated that the coaching staff believed the player had served the required suspension but was unaware that it was three games, not one, as per Greenwood's Student Athletic Code Handbook.
