Security forces kill 15 terrorists trying to cross into Pakistan through Afghan border: ISPR

On Thursday, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced that security forces had killed 15 terrorists attempting to enter Pakistan via the Afghan border. The incident occurred on the night between August 31 and September 1, when the militants tried to cross into the North Waziristan district. The security forces detected their movement and engaged them professionally and patiently.

After a 36-hour engagement, 15 individuals linked to the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were killed. The ISPR, which uses the term "Fitna al Khawarij" for the banned group, stated that the terrorists were killed during a skillful engagement that lasted for 36 hours. As a result of the engagement, a significant quantity of weapons and ammunition were recovered from the killed militants, which revealed the nefarious designs of the Khwarij and their facilitators seeking to disrupt peace and stability in Pakistan.

This incident further highlights the Pakistani government's persistent stance against the Afghan Taliban regime for failing to prevent the use of Afghan soil by the terrorist organization for cross-border terrorism. The Afghan Taliban regime has consistently failed to manage its border effectively and honor its international obligations, according to the ISPR.

The security forces are conducting a sanitization operation to eliminate any remaining Indian-sponsored Khwarij in the area. The Counter Terrorism campaign under the vision "Azm e Istehkam," approved by the Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan, will continue at full pace to eliminate foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country.
