Resolute Forum Charges Governor Oyebanji to Deepen Development, Revive Education in Ekiti

The Resolute Forum, a socio-cultural organization based in Oke Ako, Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti State, has urged Governor Abiodun Oyebanji to intensify development and revitalize the educational sector upon his re-election. The organization, which backed Oyebanji during the gubernatorial campaign, believes his June 20 election victory is a mandate to build upon the accomplishments of his first term.

A statement from the forum, signed by Deacons Olaiya Kehinde and Abayomi Adeleye, urges the governor to treat all state residents equally in the pursuit of progress. The group emphasizes Oyebanji's re-election as a reflection of the people's confidence in his leadership and their expectation for more significant strides in the upcoming term.

They call for substantial investments in agriculture, small businesses, and industrialization to generate jobs and spur economic growth. The forum also demands that the governor prioritize education, aiming to restore Ekiti's position as a leading educational state. They lament the state's decline in educational prominence and urge the government to rectify this by investing in education through sustained efforts and strategic interventions.

The group also praises Oyebanji for restoring the Owa of Oke Ako after a 25-year legal dispute and sees this as a significant step toward resolving a long-standing issue. They specifically request the establishment of a College of Agriculture in Oke Ako, believing it would boost agricultural education, support agro-based industries, and stimulate economic activities in the community.
