Bala Mohammed Canvasses Peaceful, Issue-based Campaigns Devoid of Personal Attacks Ahead 2027 Elections

Bauchi Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has urged political parties and their supporters to ensure a peaceful and lawful 2027 election campaign, free from personal attacks. Speaking after returning from an official engagement in Abuja, the governor reiterated his party's commitment to adhering to the guidelines set by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and all relevant laws governing electoral activities.

Mohammed emphasized that the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) would strictly follow these guidelines and called on other political parties to do the same. He urged campaigns to focus on issues, policies, and programs that can enhance citizens' lives, rather than resorting to personal attacks, violence, or acts that could threaten the state's peace.

The governor expressed concern over the destruction of his campaign posters and billboards by political opponents but maintained that his restraint should not be perceived as weakness. He stressed that, as a leader, he would not abuse his position by using state authority against political enemies or opponents.

Mohammed assured that his administration had planned and strategized for the upcoming campaigns, which would be conducted across the state. He also called on traditional rulers and security agencies to remain impartial throughout the electioneering period, maintaining the importance of mutual respect, fairness, and fear of God among all stakeholders.

The governor commended the peaceful conduct so far among political parties, candidates, and their supporters, hoping that the spirit of self-restraint and mutual respect would continue until the elections. He affirmed that his administration would continue to work towards maintaining peace in Bauchi and acknowledged that all stakeholders share the responsibility to avoid actions that could lead to violence or security unrest during the political season.
