Police officer seriously injured in knife attack during dispute with girlfriend in Ruaraka

A police officer working for the General Service Unit (GSU) in Nairobi's Ruaraka district sustained serious injuries when he was stabbed in the abdomen by his girlfriend during a domestic dispute. The incident took place at the officer's rented home near the Naivas Flyover on Wednesday. The 30-year-old woman involved in the altercation allegedly brandished a kitchen knife and inflicted multiple stab wounds on the officer, resulting in intestinal perforation.

Witnesses to the confrontation, including Good Samaritans, swiftly intervened, rescuing the injured officer and transporting him to Scion Hospital in Embakasi. He was admitted in critical condition and promptly received specialized medical attention. Following the attack, a team of police officers arrived on the scene and apprehended the woman.

She is currently in police custody as authorities investigate the circumstances leading up to the incident, which they suspect may have been rooted in a domestic or romantic disagreement.
