PAS representatives in Kedah have emphasized that the party possesses suitable candidates capable of leading the nation to reunite the Muslim community at the federal level, according to a report. In an address at the annual Dewan Pemuda PAS Central Annual Conference, Ilyas Ahmad, the Kedah branch's Kota Bharu representative, advocated for PAS to be the leading force in the government due to its spotless record and lack of corruption allegations, even during its tenure as a state administration.

Ilyas urged his fellow youth leaders, particularly Afnan Hamimi Taib Azamudden, to champion the cause of unity among Muslims at the national level and prevent any further hearsay. He also stressed the necessity of strengthening unity efforts without compromising the core principles of the struggle based on the Quran and Sunnah. The congress's platform called for the development of a unified charter to establish a solid foundation, founded on mutual respect.

In a separate statement, Ilyas criticized DAP and Amanah for labeling PAS as Taliban and accusing the party of riding on religion. He questioned why DAP and Amanah would accuse a Muslim party of not practicing faith, prompting them to ask: if we, as Muslims, don't engage in premarital drinking and religious extremism, what do we have to be accused of? He reaffirmed that as Muslims, PAS will continue to uphold Islamic values in its mission to strengthen Islamism in Malaysia.
