No sign of WT1 jab in vaccines crackdown

Assistant Director of Health Frank Chan announced on Thursday that no Wilms tumor 1 (WT1) vaccines were found during police raids on 14 premises, which resulted in the arrest of three individuals. Authorities seized over 890 vaccine vials, comprising 20 types of suspected unregistered vaccines, predominantly vitamins and amino acid health injections.

Chan expressed concern that unregistered WT1 vaccines could pose significant risks due to potential manufacturing or injection administration issues, such as bacterial infections leading to severe health complications or death. He revealed that a local company had supplied WT1 reagents to some medical centers, which were labeled for research purposes only, not human use.

The company reportedly obtained the reagents from overseas. Chan urged the public to avoid trusting unverified advertisements and emphasized that health providers must remove promotional material for the WT1 vaccine. Authorities have notified mainland health authorities to remove similar promotions from social media platforms, and Hong Kong laws strictly regulate medical advertisements, with strict enforcement actions for false advertising.
