Indomie Awards puts 18 young heroes in spotlight

The Indomie Heroes Awards 2026 is set to unveil the 18 young heroes chosen for their extraordinary acts of courage, compassion, resilience, and impact. The search for these young leaders began with Dufil Prima Foods, the makers of Indomie, inviting Nigerians to nominate inspiring individuals through the official Indomie website.

Complementary research agencies helped validate these stories with supporting documentation such as photographs, videos, and witness testimonies. From over 500 entries, the project team narrowed down the finalists across three categories: Physical Bravery, Social Bravery, and Intellectual Bravery. The five-member judging panel, including Nyma Zibiri, Kehinde Adegboyega, Biodun Kolawole, Oluwatosin Babasanya-Craig, and Victory Ashaka, found the Social Bravery category particularly challenging.

Nyma Zibiri praised the entries for showcasing more empathy, defining a true hero as someone who helps others selflessly. Biodun Kolawole emphasized the importance of evidence and impact, while Oluwatosin Babasanya-Craig highlighted resilience, bravery, and thinking beyond oneself as essential qualities. Victory Ashaka encouraged the finalists to see their stories as significant.

Beyond recognizing individual acts of valor, the awards aim to shine a spotlight on unsung heroes, particularly the vulnerable and less privileged. As the judges' deliberations conclude, anticipation grows for the announcement of the 2026 winners, continuing the 18-year tradition of discovering and celebrating Nigeria's young leaders.
