Fubara signs N1.84trn Rivers 2026 budget into law

Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has officially signed the state's 2026 Appropriation Bill, amounting to N1.84 trillion, into law. The signing ceremony took place at the Executive Chambers of the Government House in Port Harcourt. During the event, Fubara expressed his commitment to the people of Rivers State, emphasizing the administration's ongoing priority to improve their welfare and living conditions through various programs and projects.

He also praised the members of the Rivers State House of Assembly for their prompt passage of the budget bill, vowing continued cooperation from his administration.

Major Jack, the Leader of the House, had earlier appealed to the executive branch to ensure the responsible and efficient implementation of the budget, with the ultimate aim of benefiting the state. The 2026 Appropriation Bill was approved after reviewing spending proposals submitted by various ministries, departments, and agencies within the state government.
