FM Sybiha expects “new momentum” in peace talks

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Volodymyr Sybiha expressed optimism about the prospects for peace talks during a joint press conference with his Indian counterpart in Kyiv. Speaking to Ukrainian and Indian journalists, Sybiha stressed that the war effort in Ukraine has been relentless, with no time for respite as they continue to defend their homeland and seek a just peace.

He added that he believes a new wave of momentum will sweep through peace efforts as the active political and diplomatic phase resumes in various capitals around the world.

Sybiha emphasized the crucial role diplomacy must play in achieving peace. He acknowledged that it is unfeasible to reach a resolution without the involvement of the American side, highlighting the complex geopolitical realities at play. The minister recalled that President Volodymyr Zelensky recently engaged with the American negotiating team, urging everyone to stay informed by "watching the news."

On August 31, President Zelensky spoke with U.S. President Donald Trump's envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. During this conversation, they discussed enhancing coordination between the negotiating teams and working towards solutions to achieve peace.
