Elastic plans to integrate OpenAI cyber models into security platform

Elastic, a company behind the Elastic Security platform, has announced its intention to incorporate OpenAI's GPT cyber models into its security system. The integration will be facilitated through OpenAI's Daybreak Defense Network. According to a press release, the integration will allow Elastic Security to incorporate the models directly into its workflows, assisting with tasks such as alert triage, investigation, detection engineering, and remediation.

Customers will not need to manage or deploy separate model infrastructure. Instead, the OpenAI GPT cyber models will be delivered through Elastic Inference Service, a managed service that uses GPU acceleration. The aim of the integration is to provide security teams with advanced AI-powered cyber reasoning capabilities within their current workflows.

Mike Nichols, Elastic's general manager of Security, noted that as cyber threats evolve and become faster, defenders must leverage AI to match this speed. McCall McIntyre, OpenAI's Head of Global Cyber Partnerships, stated that the collaboration aims to help security teams utilize domain-specific intelligence for environmental protection.

The specifics of when the integration will become available to customers have not been disclosed by the company. Elastic's platform is currently used by thousands of companies, including over 75% of the Fortune 100.
