Education Ministry unveils professional development plan to strengthen employees’ skills

Doha, Qatar - The Ministry of Education and Higher Education recently introduced a new professional development plan aimed at enhancing the skills of its employees. The initiative, presented during an introductory workshop held at the ministry's headquarters, emphasized the importance of aligning training with individual career goals and job requirements.

The workshop, themed "Explore Your Development Opportunities... and Be a Partner in Building Your Career Path," was attended by numerous ministry officials and staff members. It aimed to introduce employees to the key aspects of the training development plan, including the training pathways, programs, and opportunities available to them.

The session underscored the role of employees in identifying their own development needs and how these can be linked to their current job responsibilities and career aspirations. It also sought to increase awareness of the various opportunities available and to encourage active participation in shaping their professional careers.

Latifa Dismal Al Kuwari, Head of the Administrative Training Section at the Training and Development Center, highlighted a shift in the approach to professional development. She emphasized that the new plan moves beyond merely attending training programs, instead focusing on building a personalized development pathway that aligns with employees' specific needs and job requirements.

Al Kuwari stressed that real development occurs when employees understand what they need to develop, select the appropriate opportunity, and apply what they have learned to improve their workplace performance. She added that the Training and Development Center is committed to providing a wide range of development opportunities and supporting employees in choosing the most suitable programs for their needs and career paths.

The efforts of the Training and Development Center, she noted, contribute to building sustainable institutional capabilities and supporting the ministry's strategic goals. Following the workshop, the center held an open meeting with employees to address their questions and provide further information on training and professional development programs.
